Procedures
Community Council meetings are formal events with a clear purpose - to make decisions. To ensure meetings run smoothly the Community Council operates by following set procedures known as Standing Orders .
There is usually a time limited period set aside for public participation where the public or community groups can participate and bring matters to the attention of the Community Council, seek advice and comment on local issues of interest. These procedures are detailed under Standing Orders.
If the Community Council is required to make a decision or support a scheme, the matter must be included as a specific agenda item. The agenda item will explain the matter and may include a summary of any action the Community Council is requested to consider taking.
Agenda items must be submitted to the Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer at least one week before the date of the meeting, as this is when the agenda will be produced and printed.
The agenda and Community Councillor contact details are displayed on this website and on the Community Council notice boards.
